iPhone 17 Air Leak Unveils Design

Published

on

Sonny Dickson, a source who frequently shares non-working iPhone models that case and accessory manufacturers use to get ready for future releases, has leaked a new set of it prototype dummies. The fresh photographs agree with past design renders and show that Apple is expected to deploy a uniform camera bump across most versions in the iPhone 17 lineup, with the exception of the regular version. The discovery comes after leaker Majin Bu released previous CAD images purportedly showing four models: the

  • iPhone 17,
  • iPhone 17 Pro,
  • iPhone 17 Pro Max, and
  • the speculated iPhone 17 Air.

The camera bar on the last three seems to be rectangular, evoking the look of Google’s Pixel. Nevertheless, Sonny Dickson’s recently leaked dummies offer a closer look at the iPhone 17 Air, revealing a noticeably slimmer profile in contrast to the other variants, which suddenly seem comparatively thicker.

According to industry estimates, the iPhone 17 Air will have a 6.6-inch screen, which would put it in between the 6.9-inch iPhone 16 Pro Max and the 6.3-inch iPhone 16 Pro.

This information is confirmed by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman in his most recent Power On newsletter. Gurman also notes that Apple had originally contemplated a 6.9-inch model but decided against it due to worries that a larger, ultra-thin tablet may flex easily.

According to Gurman, Dickson’s leaked mockups appear to verify Gurman’s claims that the 17 Air will have a Camera Control button, a Dynamic Island cutout, and narrow bezel. It is anticipated to be among the thinnest iPhones ever made, with a thickness of 5.5 mm. Like the iPhone 16E, the gadget will have a single rear camera and combine mid-range and high-end features. According to rumours, it will use a regular A19 chip rather than the A19 Pro, but it will include a 120Hz ProMotion display. Gurman asserts that the battery life will be on par with other iPhones despite its thin design. It is anticipated that the smartphone will retail for about $900, which is comparable to the price of the present iPhone 16 Plus. According to reports, Apple is also developing the first foldable iPhone, which is expected to be released by 2026, employing manufacturing technology from the 17 Air. According to reports, this foldable gadget would look like Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold, but it would have a less noticeable seam.

Although these leaks offer a preliminary glimpse of Apple’s possible design direction, they have not been verified. The exact design and features will be verified when Apple formally unveils the iPhone 17 series in September.
